Spring is upon us here at Serve Moore and we are excited to be transitioning with the seasons. #RenewMoore will be our theme as the weather warms up and opens up opportunities for more projects like tree planting, the community garden project and more.
Joining us this week to continue our fence-building and shed-building projects were several out of state groups: students from the University of North Texas alternative spring break program, BYX from University of Texas, Christian Student Fellowship from the University of West Virginia, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church from Houston, TX, Crestview Church of Christ from West, TX, Atlanta First United Methodist Church from Atlanta, TX. The Westminster Presbyterian Church group joins us from much nearer, Enid, OK. Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, especially those students who chose to join us over their spring break week!
This is a good time to point out the importance of the sheds and fences as residents restore their homes and move forward. Those who have stored their belongings in a storage unit for many months now are accumulating significant costs to keep those units. A brand new shed in someone's backyard can take this added expense off their hands and bring their belongings closer to home. A quality fence is also going to be important to have as the storm season begins once again- they block the wind, keep pets safe and restore privacy to residents' property.
As we push through the middle of March and into April there are tons of projects volunteers can get involved in and residents can sign up for now: new fence installation, shed building, landscaping, tree planting, and interior and exterior panting. Whether you have experience in any of these activities or a beginner, there's a role for you at Serve Moore this Spring. If you're a Moore resident and you're in need of any of the services we currently have running- or even have a new need you'd like us to assist you in- be sure to submit a help form right here on our website's home page. We love having the opportunity to serve you just as Jesus Christ served us and continues to serve us.
