Friends — this has been a difficult message for us to write. Today, we’re at an important point on the journey of Serve Moore. We want to be transparent so we feel a responsibility to share this with you.
As of today, we will have to close Serve Moore at the end of the month. It’s been hard and we’ve all felt it — the economy is suffering; the energy industry is hurting. We’ve lost monthly supporters because of the downturn. We’re doing all we can to save Serve Moore but our fundraising efforts have come up short. Right now, we would need $37,800 to finish out the year.
But we’re hopeful for an exciting opportunity coming in January. Just FOUR MONTHS from now we plan on receiving new grant funding and completing new business partnerships that will be a huge blessing in regard to monthly donations. This new cash flow could sustain our work to renew neighborhoods and change lives in the future.
We can’t say thanks enough to the 57,634 Volunteers that have served alongside us since that day in May 2013. It’s truly hard to comprehend all that God has done here through you. Thousands of people and families have been loved and served because of Serve Moore.
But there is still much to do for our neighbors in central Oklahoma. People need safe, clean, beautiful places to live. Obviously we don’t want to walk away. So we wanted you to hear it from us because Serve Moore belongs to you too. If you feel that way, help us make a last run at keeping it alive. You might be able to give $25 or $25,000. You may know a business leader who cares about these ideas and dreams. No matter which way, you can easily join this movement.
And in the end, if it’s meant to be that we close the doors to Serve Moore, we celebrate its remarkable story. When our neighbors needed us, we stepped up to serve and love together. We’re grateful for your support then and now.
